The Boston Business Journal reports a developer has filed a preliminary plan with the BRA to stick 26 floors of residential space above the facade of the existing four-story building at 533 Washington St. that had housed nightclubs for more than 50 years until the state shut Felt in 2012.

The developer bought the building from the Baldekas family last year.

The other night, a roving UHub photographer managed to rove himself right up to the current top of the Millennium Tower under construction where Filene's used to be and shares some of the views from up there - in a building where at least one top-level condo is being marketed at $37 million.

School Street was blocked overnight after a water main burst near Washington, but Tom Griffiths, who works right there, reports that around 7:30 a.m.

Adam Castiglioni reports the developers of the old Filene's building have uncovered the old marker designating the exact center of all creation, right at the corner of Washington and Summer Streets, where it had lain covered up after Filene's went out of business in an era we'd just as soon prefer to forget.

Rocco Collella, 30, of the South End, was released on personal recognizance yesterday on a charge of videotaping an unsuspecting person in the nude for a February incident in the men's room at the Marshalls store in Downtown Crossing, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
