Transit Police have put out a BOLO for a man they say punched a 62-year-old woman after she said "excuse me" as she tried to walk past him in the concourse between the Orange and Red lines at Downtown Crossing around 2 p.m. yesterday.

The Boston City Archives recount what happened when Mayor James Michael Curley successfully fought to rid Bromfield Street of young women shining shoes and blacking boots on Bromfield Street in 1917 - when the young men who would normally have done the job were getting ready for war. Boston Police report arresting Syretta Copeland, 42, on charges she went around the Roche Bros. store on Summer Street spraying people with aerosol cleaning products and then trying to set them on fire with a lighter. Read more.

Along with all the track and signal work, the T said it would spend the Month of No Orange Line to spiff up the stations.
