The Dorchester Reporter reports the man stabbed repeatedly in his South End apartment yesterday is Sheldon Lee, music director at Blessed Mother Teresa parish in Dorchester.

The man charged with stabbing him, his neighbor, David Eng, was held in lieu of $100,000 bail following his arraignment today in Boston Municipal Court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Missing tiny free library in Boston's South End

UPDATE: Library found, returned.

Tonight someone stole the Little Free Library from in front of our house. South End friends, if you happen to see it tossed in the trash somewhere, please let me know. Our hearts are breaking.

Around 2:15 p.m. in a unit at 143 W. Brookline St., at Tremont. A suspect is in custody.

UPDATE: Because of the severity of the victim's injuries, the homicde unit was called in around 3:50 p.m.

Carlos Silva, an alleged driver for a pair of murderers who gunned down two men in a car in the South End in 2003, was arrested yesterday afternoon after a traffic stop in Cleary Square, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Reports coming in of power outages from Egleston Square to the intersection of Melnea Cass Boulevard and Mass. Ave.; started around 12:20 a.m.

On Eustis Street in Roxbury and in South Boston near the Heights, the lights flickered but didn't go out.

At 12:54, Eversource showed 2,165 Boston customers without power on its outage map.

Pride parade moves for 29 seconds and stops for 5 min at a time? Why? Its supposed to be a parade not a parking lot!

Tens of thousands of people either marched in the annual Pride parade today or cheered on from the sidewalks along the route. From little kids on parents' shoulders to senior-citizen couples holding hands as they marched, people enjoyed the parade. You could tell some people were really having a ball: Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board next week hears requests for food-serving licenses for a Peet's proposed for 310 Harrison Ave. and a Caffe Nero planned for 53 Union Park.

In 2011, you may recall, South Enders successfully fought off a Dunkin' Donuts proposed for Tremont Street by arguing, among other things, that the South End already had too many food-serving establishments.

The board's hearings begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in its eighth-floor hearing room in City Hall.

The suspects were described as two black males, in their 20s, both about 5'7" and thin and both wearing dark hoodies.

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded around 7:30 p.m. to 67 Worcester St. for what turned out to be a one-alarm fire.

The fire started on a roof deck, then spread to the top floor. Fire investigators are now looking for an exact cause of the fire.

A Boston Municipal Court judge set bail at $500,000 - double what prosecutors had asked for - for Brad Clarke, 41, of Pelham, NH, related to his arrest Saturday at a Boston Medical Center helipad, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Judge Michael Coyne also ordered Clarke sent to Bridgewater for a mental-health evaluation, the DA's office reports.

WBZ reports police say a man who showed up at the Boston Medical Center helipad on Saturday wearing armor and packing a gun isn't a terrorist, just troubled and that he is now under psychiatric observation.
