Meet Curt Schilling, who yesterday asked Rhode Island to pony up some cash for his game company, because the loan guarantees they gave him weren't enough to keep the company from defaulting on a loan payment.

Massachusetts has failed solar companies and Rhode Island might soon have Curt Schilling. The Providence Journal reports Gov. Lincoln Chafee spent his weekend trying to figure out how to keep Schilling's game company "solvent," because otherwise the state might be out the $75 million it loaned it to get it to move from its original home in Maynard. Schilling has often said he doesn't want government handouts.

Curt Schilling posts his platform, which is a lot more nuanced than you might think (look at the section on the Second Amendment or on his support for pro-choice Charlie Baker).

Also includes this statement:

I live in a state where I can't drive 1/2 of a mile without a torn up road, or on a major highway without paying a toll, a large toll.

Kind of interesting that Schilling's never driven on 128 or 93 or 95 or 3 or 495.

Schilling says stop worshiping ball players, just accept the fact that tons of players (but not him, he hastens to add) juiced up, and don't you dare suggest 2004 is now "tainted:"

Then go home and raise your own damn kids with your own set of values, integrity and morals. It starts and ends under your own roof. Your kids idolize the people you allow them to, and believe things you don't refute or discuss, and that's no one's fault but your own.
