Oh, do check out the inflammatory rhetoric in the Herald. Chris Cassidy is successfully riling up the ragers there.

Yesterday, it was Cyclists, drivers are wheeling and dealing — keying off on ticket numbers and starting with a Steve Murphy slam on bikers. Today, Cyclists plan provocations in Hub bike-car war is even more heavy handed. He does the straw-man thing, manufacturer the pitched battle and sits back.

The comments are even harsher than those on bike posts here.

Sustainability does not always have to be an intense effort to persuade individuals to learn more about their carbon footprint, not drive gas-guzzlers, and buy carbon offsets. With a look at the pleasures of sustainability we just might convert a few more people.

In April 2009, tired of feeling the frustration that goes along with owning a car, I decided to get rid of my car and buy a bicycle. Since that time I have put in over 3,600 miles on my bike. I am an aggressive cyclist but try to be respectful of other vehicles and people around me. The population of cyclists is growing as consciousness of the environment, cycling campaigns, City initiatives, and fuel prices increase. Staying ahead of the curb is important but so is cycling awareness.

T Riders Union: available technology might have prevented T crash

The T Riders Union suggests that readily-available failsafe technology might have prevented Friday's Green Line crash, the Herald reports.

The failsafe sensors are used on the Red Line and Orange Line, but Grabauskas says that installing them in Green Line tunnels is more difficult, and that raising this issue is a "distraction" from the root cause of Friday's crash.

Preschooler hangs out on Northbridge school bus all day

A preschooler was left accidentally on a Northbridge school bus Monday for more than six hours, the Globe reports.

The article did not say whether the teachers or staff at his school noticed his absence, nor whether the school has policy of checking with parent or guardian when a preschooler is absent.

South End Biosafety Level 4 lab delayed for safety review

The Globe reports that the BSL4 lab in the South End will be delayed until at least late next year. Reportedly, the safety review will take longer than projected.

Putting a lab that could handle the most deadly biologicals in a dense urban area has been opposed by residents and some professional organizations. See also a report by the Security Studies Program at MIT.
