A truck driver for Designers Choice, a wholesale florist in Hyde Park (granted, about as close as you can get to Dedham and still be in the city, but still), got on Storrow Drive inbound at rush hour this morning and promptly learned why truck drivers aren't supposed to do that, as James Januzzi shows us (Januzzi rated the crash as a 10/10).

The bus driver suffered leg and hip pain in the crash at Wentworth Street and Claridge Terrace off Norfolk Street around 4:40 p.m. One child was also transported to the hospital for observation. Police summoned ISD to check the house's structural integrity.

NBC Boston reports State Police had to call in a crane truck to remove the remains of an excavator on a flatbed whose driver slammed into the top of the inbound tunnel around 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday. No, the crane truck did not then also storrow.

A person on a moped suffered serious head trauma in a crash with a motor vehicle outside the Target store on Washington Street in Roslindale shortly before 7 p.m.
Washington Street was shut so first responders could tend to and then transport the victim while detectives investigated the crash.
NBC Boston reports Boston Police traveled into Chelsea Friday morning to arrest a man they say killed a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash on a thin strip of Boston land near the Encore casino on Dec. 18.
Teddy Kokoros reports he was on his usual bus ride from Watertown into Boston around 7:15 this morning when he looked out the window in the Pru Tunnel to see a car fully engulfed in flames on the Copley offramp. Sounds like the car occupants were able to get out OK, at least, neither BFD nor State Police called for an ambulance.

Transit Police report what little traffic there was on West Street in Walpole around noon on Friday was disrupted when the driver of a garbage truck seemed to think his truck was 10'9" when it was really, oh, 10'11". No injuries, truck extricated, driver cited and, after an inspection, the bridge was, once again, declared the latest winner of a storrowing match.
