So far this afternoon, MassDOT reports there was a multi-car crash at the entrance to the O'Neill Tunnel northbound that shut the left lane and an "overheight" tractor trailer that jammed up the entrance to the Callahan Tunnel. Both scenes now clear.
Blue Hill Avenue between Moreland and Dudley streets is shut so National Grid can plug a gas leak.
Matt Frank had plenty of time to ponder how it was possible to flip that car that way on Rte. 16 in Chelsea this morning, since he was stuck in the backup caused by it.

MassDOT says people living and working near the entrance to the Sumner Tunnel in East Boston can expect "vibration and noise" this weekend as workers demolish the current tunnel ceiling as part of the ongoing tunnel repair project.

The Globe reports Washington has rejected a state request to pay like $1.2 billion towards plans to rebuild and relocate the overhead stretch of the Massachusetts Turnpike in the area of where the Allston/Cambridge tolls used to be.

The MBTA had to bust out some shuttle buses for the C Line after a driver somehow wound up on the tracks near Dean Road and Beacon Street, around 5:30 p.m. The T reports things are back to as hunky dory as they get these days on the Green Line.

Live Boston reports at least two road ragers managed to make it nearly 3 miles from Ukraine Way and Hyde Park Avenue in Forest Hills to Hyde Park without killing anyone before crashing in front of the block of stores that includes Asian-Thai Eatery on River Street near West Street in Hyde Park around 7 p.m. - possibly reaching speeds of up to 90 m.p.h. along the way. A Ford Fusion reported stolen on Cohasset Street around 8:50 p.m. wound up crashed into two other cars around 9:10 p.m. at Washington and Cedrus Avenue, after which the driver got out and ran back up Washington towards Cornell Street, where he managed to evade police. Read more.
The BPDA board this afternoon will vote on spending $100,000 for a consultant to recommend ways to turn Dartmouth Street between the BPL main library and the Copley Square park into a permanent mall for pedestrians and bicyclists - with space set aside for a lane for emergency vehicles. Read more.

Westborough Police report the driver of an 18-wheeler thought he could fit under a CSX train bridge at Rte. 30 at Willow Street this morning, only to discover he couldn't.

MassDOT officials tonight showed off preliminary plans for the replacement for the West Roxbury Parkway bridge over the train tracks between Holy Name Rotary and Belgrade Avenue - plans that include a new center turning lane and a bicycle lane in either direction, even though the bike lanes will initially be of little use since the parkway doesn't currently have any marked bike lanes. Transit Police report no injuries yesterday when a bus driver extended his bus's wheelchair ramp to let a passenger off at Tufts Medical Center yesterday and an impatient SUV driver who had been parked at the bus stop couldn't wait and drove over it just as the passenger was about to get off.
