After plowing into a car in Chinatown Saturday evening, Timothy Davidson sped off on the Expressway, stopped at a South End gas station, then, when police approached, fell out of his rented box truck, cracked his head on the pavement and fell asleep, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Boston Police report a Weymouth man spotted buying heroin off Columbia Road in Dorchester around noon Sunday stopped for pursuing police, then drove away - dragging an officer down the street.

The officer was taken to Boston Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

A man headed southbound on the Tobin Bridge pulled his car over on the Charlestown side around 2:20 p.m. and jumped over the railing to his death, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

State Police and Boston firefighters and EMTs responded. He was pronounced dead at the scene and the incident "is currently being investigated as a non-homicide," the DA's office says. An ID has been tentatively made, the DA's office adds.

A sleep-deprived citizen reports from Northampton Street:

The guy living at 182 Northampton has a minivan and the alarm goes off EVERY SINGLE NIGHT, several times, between 1 and 4 in the morning. I have submitted this ticket three times and have never even received a response -- please, tell me who I should call or what I should do. It is getting really bad.

Shortly before 7 a.m., a driver managed to firmly wedge his box truck into the underpass eastbound at the Harvard Bridge, causing a nice little blockage just as rush hour was getting underway. He tried moving the truck back, but all he did was set of a shower of sparks from where his truck's roof scraped against the top of the underpass.

UPDATE: After working on the truck for around 45 minutes without success, the Cambridge Fire Department ordered an electric saw to the scene to cut the top of the fool thing off.

In rush hour at exit 21 by the service area. Mike Moura reports two lanes southbound and one northbound are shut for the investigation.

The Boston Business Journal reports Avis Budget will pay $500 million for the locally based car-sharing service.The move will let Zipcar users rent Budget cars on the weekends.

For the past two years, a vexed citizen has complained to the city about the same three postal workers double parking in he bicycle lane outside the Talbot Avenue post office. Yesterday, the city marked one of the complaints "closed" and noted:

Officer spoke to post office workers about parking out front. they were warned. we will go by daily.

MassDOT tweets the tunnel will be closed from 9 p.m. Sunday through 5 a.m. Monday to allow inspectors to examine all the wall panels to make sure no more will simply fall off, like one did last night. The Globe reports the inspection is pretty basic: Workers will yank on every single panel; any that are loose will be replaced.
