Ryan Sawyer has started a project to map all the streets in the Boston area that are limited to people with resident-only stickers or otherwise restricted. He's set up a map on which you can add restricted streets, says:

I completed the entire city of Medford (since the parking restricted streets were readily available on the MPD's website), but the other towns/neighborhoods like Boston, Allston/Brighton, Cambridge, etc are not as easy to track down.

Nobody goes down Hawthorne Street in Roslindale who doesn't belong there.

And that's part of the reason residents of the quiet street behind the Washington Irving School say they are rattled by a Sunday-night crash that ended with three damaged cars, a broken fence, a newly planted tree with part of its bark ripped off and a car in the Irving parking lot.

Crushed truck

Leslie Jones photographed a couple of MDC cops looking at the aftermath of truck vs. underpass on Memorial Drive at the Harvard Bridge on Jan. 18, 1944:

20 ton truck doesn't clear 9 ft. underpass.

The photo, by the way, is part of the BPL's huge collection of Jones photos of traffic accidents. It's a must see for fans of crushed cars, cabs, trucks and buses from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s that are flipped over, wrapped around trees, in the water and scattered in little pieces, sometimes with occupants still in them.
