Protesters with signs calling for an end to the Israeli invasion following the Hamas massacre of Israelis blocked both sides of the BU Bridge this morning.
Cambridge Police alerted motorists to "please find an alternate route to avoid delays."

Live Boston reports on the 3 a.m. crash on Rte. 1A. The tanker driver was able to escape the resulting fire unharmed; the car driver was trapped until Boston firefighters arrived and got her out.

NBC Boston shows us the latest storrowing: A truck that went skreeeeeeee after its driver learned what those "CARS ONLY" signs mean in a lesson applied by the Silber Footbridge on the inbound side of Storrow Drive this morning. Drivers in the resulting traffic backup were, of course, thrilled at all the extra time to check their phones.

A contractor hired by BTD has begun tearing up pedestrian crossings along Centre Street in West Roxbury as the first phase of a project that will reconfigure the road from four car travel lanes to two, with new center turning lanes, pedestrian crossings and dedicated bike lanes along the sidewalks, protected from traffic by parked cars. Heshan de Silva-Weeramuni spotted this early space saver at Shawmut Avenue and Hanson Street in the South End today. Oh, wait, what's that? The South End is the one neighborhood where the city bans space savers? Are you going to tell steely South Enders they can't save a space - even if the leaves on local trees are still mostly green?

The city is out with a comparison of two basic approaches for improving Blue Hill Avenue between Mattapan Square and Grove Hall - a massive re-build with construction of dedicated bus lanes and a more modest plan with a massive increase in traffic enforcement by police - and says it expects Mayor Wu to announce a final plan for the road by the end of the year. Spinorama captured the scene on Memorial Drive this morning. The one saving grace, at least for the driver, if not storrowing fans, is that he was able to do a backup of shame rather than watch as a crew drags off what remains of his mangled, newly roofless truck.
