A concerned citizen complains about this example of sidewalk parking on Johnson Street in suburban West Roxbury:
Car consistently parked on sidewalk even blocking entrances to house. Isn't this a fire hazard? Also people can't walk on the sidewalk & have to cross or walk in street.
The city transportation sprang into action, rushing out to ticket that bad boy.
The West Roxbury Bulletin reports the owner of the West Roxbury Pub has sold the place to Diarmuid O'Neill, who plans to remake it into Eat with Jack O'Neill.

There's a rumor going around West Roxbury that if you show up at the Millennium Park DPW salt shed with a bucket and proof of Boston residency, they'll fill up your bucket with salt.
"No, absolutely not true," the mayor's office says.
"Who is Number 1?" Matt O'Malley demanded.

One of the Boston area's rare failed Dunkin' Donuts is getting turned into a bagel shop - on VFW Parkway northbound just past the Dedham line.
The Bagelville outlet is being outfitted by the owners of the bagel stand at Faneuil Hall Marketplace - who promise fresh bagels baked daily, along with bagel-based sandwiches and smoothies.

Boston firefighters are on what is now their daily run to Stony Brook Reservation, for another brush fire off Enneking Parkway and Washington Street. Two alarms as of 9:30 a.m. State Police are shutting down the parkway.

Steven and Lori Palladino and their son Gregory are now charged with defrauding customers of their Centre Street investment firm of up to $13.8 million, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
The three were arraigned today in Suffolk Superior Court on charges levied by a grand jury last month. Prosecutors had previously said the family was responsible for $10 million in losses.
