BPD District E-5 reports:

Over the past two nights there have been multiple car breaks during the overnight hours. Five to six suspects were observed checking car doors in the area of Lagrange Street, Maplewood Street, Bobolink Street and Partridge Street. Please make sure to lock your doors and do not leave any valuables visible.

Mary Ellen spotted this blue-gray gnatcatcher at Millennium Park in West Roxbury this morning (OK, maybe it was just a shadow that made it look like it was ready to take on some round green pigs).

Somebody this afternoon drove into Pets Supply Plus on the southbound side of VFW Parkway just before the Dedham line. Brendan surveyed the damage. WHDH reports no injuries.

Blue grosbeak

Mary Ellen spotted this male blue grosbeak, before it turns more fully blue, at Millennium Park in West Roxbury today. Along the East Coast, they normally don't come north of central New Jersey.

Tim West was on scene for the Parkway in Motion Easter-egg hunt at the West Roxbury Education Complex field today, moments before scores of kids were unleashed on the 20,000 Easter eggs scattered there.

A disgusted citizen filed a 311 report today about what sure looks like a pile of about 30 plastic bottles filled with urine at VFW Parkway and Charles Park Road (complaint has a photo in case you're having difficulty picturing a pile of urine-filled former water bottles).

Two eagles in West Roxbury

On a walk around Millennium Park in West Roxbury this morning, Mary Ellen spotted two eagles perched on the transmission tower at the National Grid facility down below on Rivermoor Street.

Michael O'Reilly of West Roxbury, who was arrested on child-porn charges in October, has been indicted on additional charges, based in part on records obtained from a mobile messaging app he was allegedly using to exchange sexual images with a girl halfway across the country, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.
