There's a fair amount of Queen Anne's Lace along the top of Millennium Park in West Roxbury, but this one, overlooking the marshes that lead to the Charles River, was by far the largest of them all.

Crows attack bald eagle

A communications tower off Rivermoor Street, near Millennium Park in West Roxbury, is a popular place for birds to perch and survey the nearby Charles River. The other day, though, a pair of crows decided to try to drive off a bald eagle sitting up there. And Mary Ellen was there to watch the dive bombing.

Westbury Restaurant on Centre Street

Update: The new owner is Erdi Kembora of West Roxbury.

The yellow sign above the restaurant name says it all: On May 28, the Westbury Restaurant, next to where the bowling alley used to be before the post office moved in, gets a new owner - longtime owner Antonios Sevastos is retiring after serving up breakfast there for more than 30 years. Read more.

Seniors support senior center

West Roxbury seniors were out in force at Billings Field this morning to press Mayor Wu to help them get a neighborhood senior center built. Wu, there for one of her neighborhood coffee hours, gave them a shout out as she addressed the roughly 200 people who attended. Read more.

Firefighters deal with solar-panel fire

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 53 Birchland Ave. in West Roxbury for a fire that started in the house's roof panels, then extended into the attic.

There were no injuries, the department says, adding one resident was displaced.
