A Truman Parkway habitue pleads with the Mayor's Hotline to get a Coffee Break Cafe where the new Stop & Shop is going in.

The Hotline responds, "your case has been resolved," which is probably a polite way of saying "no."

An ex-Stop & Shop barely remains on Truman Parkway. Last week, it looked like they'd fill the lot behind the Jersey barriers with construction equipment and never get to tearing down the not-so-supermarket, liquor store, bank and pharmacy.

Two workdays later, there's not much left. An empty brick shell may be gone this week. We're figuring to see the big-assed version of grocery and drugstore within six months. Walgreen's is now a trailer pharmacy.

When Americans get into deconstruction, they get serious.

Biking along the Neponset

Mike Ball reports on a ride along what will someday be the Neponset River Greenway bicycle path in Hyde Park and Mattapan:

... Like so many of the Boston-area bike projects, this one is stuck out there, largely isolated from both other cycling/walking futures and the larger city. Yet, this is another neighborhood that will benefit. Plus, this is the Neponset River Greenway and they are building it not coincidentally where the river has always been.
