Lots of trash floating past Graves Ledge. Most, like cans and wrappers, look like they were dumped by thoughtless boaters.

A memorial to the 13 Confederate soldiers who died while held on Georges Island - out of some 1,000 kept prisoner there - is now covered with wooden boards as the Baker administration determines if and how they can just get rid of the thing. Read more.

WGBH reports on how the ICA is promising to behave and let the public continue to stroll along the harbor on land that's supposed to be open to the public even on nights when it charges guests $20 to mingle at exclusive parties there.

A regular yacht became a land yacht today when it wound up on a sand bar that was probably marked on a chart or something and which became painfully obvious at low tide, as Paul Nutting Jr. shows us. He reports the location as:

An area called the Narrows between Lovells and the Brewsters, close to Boston Light.

A guy in a motorboat towed several sailboats past Castle Island from the direction of the harbor islands towards the inner harbor yesterday.

Boston firefighters are off New Street for a small fire on an abandoned pier reported around 2:10 p.m.
