EaBo

Globe discovers bo-bo-bo nonsense

SoWa? EaBo? Boston plays name game, which features this intriguing quote from the EaBo guy:

He hopes it will catch on, replacing the "negative connotation" he feels plagues East Boston with a sense that the neighborhood is eclectic, diverse, and ''emerging."

"Even if it's smaller, we may have more of that New York feel someday," he said.

Somebody buy that man a Yankees cap! And put him on the next Acela Metroliner Fung Wah to Nooyawk!

The cancerous Eabo meme is spreading:

EaBo is broken up into 3 major sections: Eagle Hill, Orient Heights, and Jeffries Point. I guess you could call Maverick a small area as well.

Spotted by the ever vigilant Marilora, who notes that, unlike EaBo, East Boston has FOUR major areas. She adds:

I wonder if this is an effort to trick unsuspecting yuppies into thinking that they are moving to a new, previously undiscovered neighborhood of Boston.

Carmeller spots the following ad on the hipsterati watering hole, i.e., craigslist:

East Boston (EaBo) loft coming in several months, 14'+ ceilings, walk to airport station, 800 square feet + 400 sf mezzanine, AC, roof rights, all stainless steel appliances, brand new. Don't wait to inquire. Come to Boston Magazine "hottest city neighborhood".

EaBo? EaFRICKINBo? I guess only people who drink SoBe can live in EaBo. Why not highlight its proximity to Logan Airport? EaBoLa!

Update: Oh, no, it's spreading!
