The Hotel Commonwealth in Kenmore Square says it will close tomorrow with the hopes of re-opening May 2, "though this is subject to change."
At least six other Boston hotels have closed due to a Covid-19 health issues and the related collapse of the travel business.

WBUR reports Shaw's and Stop & Shop acknowledges some of its workers have tested positive for Covid-19, including at the Hyde Park Shaw's. Stop & Shop says most of its positive employees are in its New York State stores.

Mayor Walsh yesterday signed an executive order that lets Boston stores return to those flimsy plastic bags for the duration of the current state of emergency. The order also waives the fee stores normally charge customers for store-provided bags. Read more.
