Regular banks won't touch marijuana businesses with a ten-foot pole, what with the feds once again railing about the evil weed, so the chairman of the Cannabis Control Commission wants to look at creating a state-run pot bank - to get millions of dollars out of the way of robbers and to ease taxation - the Globe reports.

The Sozio Appliance store on Squire Road in Revere was completely engulfed in flames in what has turned into a four-alarm fire. The fire has spread to neighboring businesses and cut off power to parts of Revere.

The Revere Journal reports the city licensing commission is considering requiring the Squire Lounge to only serve beer in plastic cups after a detail cop was smashed in the head with a beer bottle while trying to break up a fight. The lounge objects, saying plastic cups look cheap and that people determined to slug their way out of a fight would just resort to chairs or purses.
