Smoke in front of Faneuil Hall from motorcycles

Dan Meade reports he was in front of Faneuil Hall around 6:45 p.m. today when a large group of motorcycles came roaring up:

They came down Devonshire, held up traffic at the crossing at Congress to keep the pack together, and then about 100 motorcycles stopped in front of Fanueil Hall and smokescreened the whole block.

Some a-hole w a scooter powered by a hairdryer or a million mosquitos is going down lamartine to new Minton up Amory and back again. It's a nuisance. And I've heard a couple people have to brake sharply for the jerk.

A fed-up citizen who lives on Beverly Street and Lovejoy Place complains:

Excessive noise from people beating plastic buckets outside Celtics game at 957 pm. Just woke up my sick toddler. Ridiculous - this is now a residential neighborhood and this kind of racket should not be allowed at this hour.

Another 311 user, who likes to browse complaints, files a complaint about the complaint:

An eardrum-ravaged citizen complains:

Currently (and often) there is a street performer who bangs on overturned plastic drums at the boston massacre site. it's loud and annoying -- i live 23 floors above it, and the noise still infiltrates my apartment -- and it drives tourists away from this historic site. i see them scurrying past and covering their ears, from my window. i can't believe the city allows this.

A sodden citizen complains about a building on Tremont at Dwight:

Someone from one of the condos with a front balcony is dumping water on people. My partner and I walked by this morning at about 8:40 and had water poured on us. It was not from watering plants and it was not a drip. We went back and saw someone in the penthouse unit out on the terrace looking down at the sidewalk.

Stupid giant storage box in Jamaica Plain

Oh, is this yours? The DPW would like to have a word with you.

For more than three days, one of those giant move-across-the-country storage boxes has sat partly in a driveway on Bynner Street in Jamaica Plain, the rest on the sidewalk and jutting into the street - forcing pedestrians to walk blindly around it, hoping there's not a speeding Masshole on his cell phone coming the other way. Stop ripping my bags open

An outraged citizen complains he's been forced to label his trash to try to keep the neighborhood can collectors from ripping his bags open:

How can we fix the fact that I have to put this on my trash bags? I use the right bags and pack properly. Everything after trash day I need to clean up outside my house. These people just come along and poke through bags looking for cans. They don't care about the trash left behind. Just frustrating to a tax payer that wants to keep his neighborhood clean.

A concerned citizen reports:

I wanted to make you aware that someone has been driving around the north end on trash pickup nights with a truck/van - and ripping up garbage bags and rummaging through the trash to see if there are any salvageable items. This has happened on numerous nights the past few weeks and the amount of trash and debris littered all over the sidewalks and streets is horrific. I also feel for the garbage collectors who have to try and dump these bags that are all torn up with garbage everywhere. I have tried putting my trash out as late as possible (almost midnight) and still woke up this morning to find my bags all torn up and my trash all over the street. I am seeing this on streets all over the North End, including Salem Street, Endicott Street, etc.

An annoyed citizen complains:

These dirt biker gangs need to be off the streets. One was on I-93S just north of exit 18 and was blocking multiple lanes of traffic as well as impeding lane changes. They were driving slowly and performing dirt bike stunts. One of these idiots hit my car with something and left scuff marks and dents in it. It's about time we get a task force together to get rid of them. This doesn't happen anywhere else in this state that I've seen.

A groggy citizen complains about the playground on W. 5 Street in South Boston:

There is loud screaming and basketball played 24 hours a day, including the middle the of night. The noise is a nuisance to its residential surroundings, especially those with children trying to sleep.

A concerned citizen reports on the constant squeaking on Chestnut Avenue in Jamaica Plain:

The neighbors have an extremely loud weather vane on top of their house. It squeaks all day and night. I'm not sure where to put this request as I've talked to some tenants and they can't go up on the roof and get it down. This is a weird request but it's noise pollution and it's so loud.

Shamus Moynihan's posted a couple of photos from Day Street in Jamaica Plain that prove just how disgusting our receding snow mounds have become (oh, and here's another).

Ed. note: I chose not to post either of the photos, but you can either use your imagination or you can click on the links to see dirty diapers on top of snow.

BuzzFeed introduces us to Jan Rankowski, a Maine man who posted a YouTube video that showed him with the car he claimed he wrecked while on the way to terrorize Arlington game developer Brianna Wu - forced to flee her home last year under a deluge of horrible and specific threats from GamerGate manboys.

Turns out Rankowski is a member of a sketch-comedy group and says, ha ha, he was just trying to satirize GamerGate. And now that his secret is out and GamerGate is doing the same sort of harassment against him that they did against Wu, he says, oops, he has newfound sympathy for Wu and other women game developers.
