And there are reasons not to, as Norwood Police reminded its Twitter followers tonight:

Barely two weeks after a photo of a BMW at a hydrant on Rutland Street during a fire went national, Tim W. finds a BMW parked in front of a hydrant on Rutland Street. At least it's a different hydrant this time.

A concerned citizen complains about a thoughtless dog owner in the park at W. 3 and B streets in South Boston:

Woman in park with dog off leash. This is a No Dog park. A neighbor went out to tell her and she was yelling at him and being very rude. Please have park patrolled and ticket people like her- tons of babies play there and I'm sure the Southie mother's group won't be happy to hear their kids are playing in dog pee.

A fed-up Beacon Hill resident complains that a lady across Revere Street keeps walking across the street with her trash and leaving it for the trash guys in front of the resident's home:

A West Roxbury District Court judge today admonished two neighbors to grow up and stop battling over their property line.

She reserved particular ire for a 72-year-old woman whose neighbor captured her video on his property scaring his kids and then smashing a glass deck table by throwing a rock at it. The woman, who had requested a restraining order against her neighbor and who walked into court with a cane, had denied ever going on his property, let alone destroying his furniture, but then the man produced his video camera and the judge watched a video showing the incident.

Limeduck was puzzled, at first, by the politeness he started seeing on Orange Line platforms recently, in which people agreeably let other people board the train first:

That’s when it dawned on me, this is not any kind of selfless behavior, it’s the opposite kind! These people are trying to be the last on so they can be first off at their stop, and it’s starting to delay the whole boarding process when first they dawdle and squabble about who’s to be last, and then they bottleneck the door area making it harder again to get on or off at any stop till theirs.

Along comes Eddie Andelman to tweet:

the 19 million who watched the world cup clearly illustrates the vast number of illegals within the borders of U.S. A.

UPDATE: Andelman has deleted the tweet, but don't worry, he left up the other racist tweets that nobody's called him on yet.

A South End resident complains about trash pickers constantly ripping up his or her trash bags:

We have had it with the city taking no action against trash pickers. 3 times today I had to go out, pick up, and rebag my trash due to pickers. Does the city want citizens to start taking the matter into our own hands? I'm not above starting to leave raw feces in each of my trash bags to deter them.

Flier that asks people to stop giving Boylston Street panhandler money

This morning, the sort of people who trek down Boylston Street in Jamaica Plain to City Feed were greeted by a flier about a homeless regular on the street, McCallister Crowley reports.

But some of those people objected to the sentiments. This afternoon, he reports, there were a couple of replies to the original flier:

Big Papi (David Ortiz) says "This is our fucking city" at Fenway Park

Suck it, Shank.

Dan Shaughnessy had his yearly Ortiz hategasm today, erupting in a paroxysm of disgust for the player whose fundamental evil for some reason only he is able to recognize. But he was apparently a paragraph short in his recounting of every last horrible thing David Ortiz has ever done, so he threw this in at the end:

Last, and least, the rules say you’re not supposed to use the f-bomb when you are on live television. When David Ortiz told the world, “This is our [expletive] city!,’’ we made T-shirts commemorating the phrase, and the chairman of the FCC tweeted his approval.

A fed-up citizen complains:

Millennium Park is NOT a dog park! I am sick and tired of being chased and nearly attacked by off-leash dogs. My son was just chased and knocked to the ground by an off-leash dog.

Dogs in Blackstone Park in the South End

A disgusted citizen complains about the demonspawn hellhounds once again infesting Blackstone Park in the South End:

"You shouldn't wear white pants when you walk across Blackstone Park," said the uncommonly nutty owner of the unleashed dog that just wiped its filthy snout on me. Leash law? Public park? Anybody?
