The afternoon rush hour got off to a grim start when a Red Line train succumbed to old age at Park Street. Although T workers managed to remove the body quickly, the line still has "moderate" delays, the MBTA reports.

Transit Police report arresting a Quincy man on a charge of taking photos up a woman's skirt as she walked on the stairs at the Park Street T station.

Somebody was shot around 6:45 p.m. at the Parkman Bandstand. A suspect ran into the Park Street MBTA station and then onto the Green Line tracks towards Boylston Street. Boston Police officers and state troopers ran onto the tracks after him. Read more.

Yes, signal problems, this time at Park Street, are causing still more problems on the Red Line this morning.

The Globe reports the Red Line has 99 problems, and all of them are related to signals.

The Globe reports that the guy who fell on the Red Line tracks at Park Street yesterday, bringing the line to a halt at rush hour, was dancing his way down the yellow warning strip when he misjudged a move and took a plunge. A T spokesman is quoted as urging riders not to do that.

Lisa Johnson recounts the day she was rushing to the Green Line when she swerved to get around somebody near the yellow warning strip, lost her balance and fell on the tracks:

I think I may have been in shock, because I was just lying on the tracks trying to get my bearings. I don’t remember if it was me actively trying to get up and people grabbing my hands as I reached up or people just grabbing my hands and pulling me up. Either way, there were two sets of hands pulling me up.

Transit Police report arresting Shaun Goodwin, 41, for allegedly going after another man with a hypodermic needle yesterday morning at Park Street.

Police charge that Goodwin had harassed the man in the past and that on spotting him buying a CharlieTicket around 11:20 a.m., challenged him to a fight. Read more.

A dead trolley at Arlington outbound is backing up things on the Green Line. The T is reporting similar delays on the Red Line from Park to Alewife for unspecified reasons.

Via e-mail this morning, we got a photo of some some graffiti in an elevator at the Park Street T station that seems to indicate the author's carefully considered desire to build a wall to keep out Section 8 recipients. Our correspondent reports he notified the T, which promised a cleanup crew was on the way.

UPDATE: Then the signals went on the fritz between Central and Kendall.

Gin Dumcius witnessed T workers struggling to keep a guy from trying to kill himself at Park Street around 7:45 p.m. Ten workers eventually joined the successful effort to keep him off the tracks until he could be transported to the hospital.
