Truck about to drive on Storrow Drive

Judging by how quiet the State Police Twitter feed is, we're going to assume that the driver of this truck, captured this morning by David Fisher, saw the second CARS ONLY sign and suddenly realized that, whoa, maybe he should stop and back up.

If you're going to slam your truck into a Storrow overpass, do it right, we always say.

A new take-out sushi place could open soon at 92 State St.

State Street Sushi will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. if the Boston Licensing Board tomorrow approves its request for a food-serving license. Nobody opposed the granting of a license at a hearing this morning.

Shortly after midnight. Arriving firefighters fairly quickly got him out of the water and into a boat, to await EMTs - who also had to help a firefighter injured in the rescue effort.

This photo shows the scene outside a Downtown Crossing Citizens Bank yesterday afternoon not long after police arrived to arrest the guy on the ground - who didn't get far after he robbed a woman of her money and phone at the ATM, thanks to the bearded guy on the left, who grabbed him and held him for police.

Jeff, the man who stepped in, reports:

I just did what I hope someone else would've done had it been one of my loved ones.

Dan O'Brien thought of Disneyworld when he saw the line of people waiting to get into the Downtown Crossing Roche Bros. on its opening day today.

Adam Castiglioni reports the developers of the old Filene's building have uncovered the old marker designating the exact center of all creation, right at the corner of Washington and Summer Streets, where it had lain covered up after Filene's went out of business in an era we'd just as soon prefer to forget.

Gracenote Coffee

The Boston Licensing Board considers a proposal for a coffee shop at 108 Lincoln St. at a hearing next week.

Gracenote Coffee, which already roasts beans, plans to open an eponymous coffee bar in the front half of an office there. It'll be staffed by the guy who now pedals the Coffee Trike around Dewey Square.

The board's hearings begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday in its eighth-floor hearing room in City Hall.
