South Station Bus Terminal

Transit Police report they are looking for the guy captured on video swiping an unattended bag - with a laptop inside - from near the McDonald's in the South Station bus terminal around 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 2.

Red Line riders are having issues as well, due to an unconscious person having to be taken off a train at Park Street.

The Boston Business Journal reports outgoing Mayor Tom Menino has agreed to designate the area in front of the Boston Garden "blighted" so that he can give the Garden and developers a multimillion tax break for developing in such a horrid area - and the right to make one of their proposed towers 45 stories, to be filled with luxury residential units.

Associated Press reports on a 15-story, 175-unit project at Lovejoy Wharf, to replace the building where they used to hang that giant Celtics banner, as part of the same complex as the building now being converted into the Converse world headquarters.

Boston Police report issuing summons to the owner of Char So Bees Smoke Shop, 170 Tremont St., and three other people after undercover officers made a series of drug-paraphernalia buys in the store.

On serving the summons, officers seized a variety of scales and grinders and "stash" cans designed to look like cans of Dr Pepper and Orange Crush soda and Ajax cleanser. Also seized: A variety of glass pipes in general and one crack pipe in particular, police say.

Too many trees

An irate citizen complains about the interior of City Hall these days:

Cultural oppression all over Boston City Hall lobby. Why do I have to constantly be reminded that I'm not part of the dominant culture every time I walk into MY City Hall? Where were the decorations for all the other holidays? What happened to Boston being so proud of its diversity???
