The Daily Free Press reports a possibly soused smoker went berserk at the Nile Hookah Lounge, 70 Brighton Ave., on Friday, when his ex walked in and began to leave with another man. He threw a hookah against a wall, showering customers in glass, tried to punch somebody in the head and heaved a chair in the air. Then he fled, but returned when he realized he left his coat behind, and then got into another fight.

A concerned citizen checks in from Allston this morning:

Large number of crows circling above intersection of commonwealth and Harvard. This could be a bad omen for bike riders, hipsters, college students with upcoming finals, or even the expected winter storm.

Norm Vigeant posted a photo of three MBTA locomotives and a commuter-rail coach crossing a causeway at the Wachusett Reservoir in West Boylston on Saturday.

Normally, the T would use the Grand Junction bridge (the train bridge under the BU Bridge) to move cars from its repair facility in Somerville to points south, but the bridge was shut last Wednesday for some emergency repairs, changing what used to be a 7-mile trip into a 108-mile loop by way of Ayer and Worcester.

A 21-year-old BU student died after a collision at Brighton and Harvard avenues with an MBTA bus.

Scott Eisen reports the bus seems to have simply driven away. WCVB reports police say the driver of the Route 57 bus did not realize he'd hit someone. BostInno reports the driver was taken off the job as the investigation continued.

Boston Biker has some more info on the bicyclist.

Traffic in the area quickly snarled after police shut Harvard Avenue to allow an investigation.

Naama Goldstein, who lives on Comm. Ave., writes her city councilor about the problems caused by the Monday Aerosmith concert - more specifically, the way the entire street was shut down without any coordination with Boston Public Schools to deal with kids who take buses to school:

Dear Councilor Ciommo:

As your Allston constituent, I am writing to request your advocacy on an issue that, to my disappointment, has garnered no response from City Hall or BPS, or other responsible parties.

Possibly not, given the city's ongoing crackdown on DIY and basement music in the neighborhood.

No, they're not trying to tie Allston up in knots - that's just a side bonus. From a press release:

The Music Museum Of New England (MM/ONE) is launching the Boston Music Trail by unveiling the first of several markers honoring sites significant to the musical history of the city. The marker will be installed at 1325 Commonwealth Avenue in Brighton, where Aerosmith lived together and rehearsed in the basement when the band first moved to Boston in 1971 to begin its storied career. ...

Scores of tow trucks on Comm toward BC. Anyone towed from Comm Av should consider suing Aerosmith & naming Boston.

Dan Walker, who lives right there and doesn't understand the angst, responds:

The Globe reports Comm. Ave. in Allston will be shut between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. between Harvard and Allston - and the Green Line shut starting at 10:30 a.m. - so Aerosmith can give a free concert in front of their first home in the Boston area.
