A Dorchester Municipal Court judge today set bail at $500,000 for Kristopher Jordan, who is charged with opening fire on Boston gang-unit officers pursuing somebody else in Mattapan early Saturday, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Boston Police report a man, believed to be in his 30s, was shot around 6:30 p.m. at 1357 Blue Hill Ave., at Walk Hill Street. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Boston Police report they have arrested Jakyres McKinney, 25, today on charges he murdered Javoni Boyd, 19 (at right), at 165 Delhi St. in Mattapan on June 13.
