A man walking on the Mattapan Line tracks between Capen Street and Mattapan Square on Tuesday night died after he was hit by a trolley, Transit Police confirm. Foul play is not suspected, they add.

The developers of the Olmsted Green development on the old Boston State Hospital along Harvard Street in Mattapan will soon file plans for six new buildings with 265 apartments and condos - including one building that would have 20 apartments for families with foster or adopted kids and 40 apartments for seniors who would agree to help them out. Boston Police report arresting a 16-year-old they say was walking around the area of Norfolk and Babson streets in Mattapan with a gun loaded with 14 bullets - and seizing eight dirt bikes - Friday night. Read more.

Victim identified as Jahieem Gist-Vailes, 21, of Mattapan.

Shot in the head at 14 Orlando St., at Savannah Avenue, around 10 p.m. The Boston Police Department reports he was declared dead at the scene.

Victim identified as Ralphie Scott, 33, of Stoughton.

Boston Police report a man was was shot around 9:15 p.m. on Norfolk Street at Elizabeth Street shortly before 9:15 p.m. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Boston Police report that officers who responded to a loud-music call at 541 Norfolk Ave. in Mattapan Thursday night arrested a Dorchester 16-year-old they say had "a machete sheathed in a black nylon case" down one pants leg. Read more.

The Boston Licensing Board today unanimously approved a plan by Camilo Liquors III to move from its current ramshackle location at the corner of Edgewater Drive and River Street to a better maintained building next door, over the objections of ministers and parishioners at the Church of the Holy Spirit, who say the store's often angry customers sit - and urinate and defecate - on church property. Live Boston reports Boston firefighters and EMTs were able to free a man pinned under a tree that gave way and fell outside 33 Kennebec St. in Mattapan around 5:45 p.m. yesterday. He was rushed to a local hospital for care.

A Taco Bell franchisee today withdrew its request for zoning permission to raze a former tire store and replace it with a Mexican-like outlet at 1578 Blue Hill Ave. in Mattapan.

Derric Small, attorney for Cantina Hospitality of Greenwich, CT, did not provide a reason for withdrawing the application for a take-out place with a free-standing sign at a Zoning Board of Appeal hearing this morning.
