Wicked Local Arlington reports that the man Arlington police thought dressed up like a woman to rob a bank this morning was, in fact, a woman - more specifically, a skinny woman, about 5'6" wearing a wig.

A “Voter Choice” initiative petition turned in to the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office on Wednesday would give Massachusetts voters a chance to change to a voting system that lets voters rank their choices instead of voting for only one candidate. The change would apply to key races, including for governor, lieutenant governor, secretary and treasurer, among others, starting after January 2012.

Andrew Kimpton tweets that trains getting to Park Street were discharging all their passengers, " forcing hundreds of passengers to wait on the platform." Jeff Dunns adds T workers at Park Street gently encouraged riders to get off the trains by swearing at them.

Well, I wanted to give a great big thank you to Robbins Farm Park (and the Friends Of organization), the Arlington Center for the Arts, and the residents of the city of Arlington and surrounding towns for coming out en masse yesterday to see Rebel Shakespeare do "Hamlet." We estimated about 500 people were there. Our kids were thrilled with the crowd, the venue, the enthusiasm for outdoor theatre, and had the time of their lives. Thank you bunkosquad and friends for coming out -- wish I'd had more time to chat with you.

Dan Dunn, who lives in Arlington, is not at all happy with his state rep, Jay Kaufman, because Kaufman didn't just vote to make Sal DiMasi house speaker, he did so with relish - and then defended him when the Globe first started asking questions about Cognos:

Arlington elementary school to let students ride their bikes

Lauren Hefferon reports she and other bike-backing parents finally got school officials to give the idea a try, several years after the school superintendent banned bikes. Only problem: The school doesn't want to install a bike rack.

Survey says: Arlington wouldn't mind if chickens came home to roost

A (granted, completely unscientific) poll says not only would most people in Arlington not object if the town allowed people to keep chickens in their backyards, 9% said they would strongly consider getting some live fowl themselves, YourArlington reports.

The town's been clucking about the issue thanks to Town Meeting articles that would legalize chicken keeping. The Board of Health, however, prefers to keep the idea cooped up, citing the potential for noise and odors, and selectmen say they are reluctant to back the idea without health board approval.
