The Hyde, which is what Dottie's on Fairmount Avenue is morphing into, launches its dinner service on March 26, starting promptly at 5 p.m.

Cafeteria food gets mixed review

Finance Foodie reports that Cafeteria, the post-hip, ironically named Newbury Street restaurant, serves some really good food and some really bad food:

... The scallops were quite large and well seared, but had a slight hint of freezer burn. Last time I checked Boston was not landlocked, so obtaining fresh seafood should have been easy as pie. ...

A couple of new restaurants have opened in Roslindale over the past two weeks. Neither is a chic Italian bistro, so we had to check them out.

Boston Chomps recommends Muqueca in Inman Square for Brazilian seafood stew:

... My favorite however, was the cod capixaba. It's made from salt cod, and stewed in coconut milk. The stew also includes plantains, olives, and boiled eggs. A strange combination but DELICIOUS. It tasted even better after adding the hot sauce served at every table. ...

Not up for Brazilian seafood? What about Brazilian meat meat meat. Bill Ives savors the Cafe Belo in Somerville, one of a whole chain of Brazilian meat joints.

Lyss on Zocalo in Brighton: What a pleasant first experience at a restaurant.

Lewis Forman on Kashmir on Newbury Street: I have never seen a grumpier group of servers ever. Except at McDonalds.

Zon's: Best burgers in Boston

Eat and Destroy raves about the burgers and other food at Zon's on Perkins Street:

... I always complain that the majority of nice (i.e., not cheap) restaurants in Jamaica Plain have inferior quality food for the price than can be found elsewhere in Boston, but Zon's is definitely an exception and I am looking forward to eating there again soon.
