Mass. GOP News lays out the case for Republicans to wish Healey loses this fall: Use all the money from her campaign to support a Republican takeover of the Legislature:

Chris Gabrieli says "no more finger pointing" when it comes to the Big Dig. Charley says Are you kidding? Let's have more finger-pointing:

[B]lame is the currency of accountability. Because accountability has been so diffuse with the Big Dig, we haven't had one person to blame, and so nothing got fixed. ...

It's really painful watching Tom Reilly slowly implode. His flacks say the AG stopped taking contributions from Big Dig execs last year. Then Kimberly Atkins at the Herald spends five minutes with the state-run contributions database and discovers $500 contributions from a Modern Continental vice president and his wife just last month.

Deb Geisler reports on a polling phone call she got today:

... The survey was clearly conducted by someone (a) whose native language was not English, (b) who did not know the correct pronounciation of the names of the candidates, and (c) who was at an international call center, and not in the U.S. ...

Michael Feldman surveys all the candidates running for governor this year and gets depressed:

... Speaking as a political tout, we can't work up a single calorie of heat over any of these morons. What do they all have in common? Money, ego, ambition, good suits and expensive haircuts, with the exception of Ms. Ross.

Charley on the MTA says yesterday belonged to Deval Patrick:

... This was Deval's day, and he and his delegates were in full command. Reilly gave a truly fine speech, tough, compassionate and populist; Gabrieli got in the game (barely), and rejoiced; but the sheer emotional dominance of Patrick's speeches -- and the delegates' noise -- were what one takes away from the proceedings today. ...

Andy, a Patrick supporter, is liveblogging the convention. Ditto for Patrick delegate Jesse Kanson-Benanav. And what would a large Democratic gathering be without Blue Mass. Group?

Political Intelligence is in the house as well. So is Adam Reilly.

On Blue Mass. Group, David explains why Tom Reilly might want to stop yammering about Ameriquest.

And, yes, Deval Patrick is rich.

Blue Mass. Group has notes on the debate. Also on the Democratic side, Sco provides some thoughts. Hub Politics provides the non-Mihos Republican view.

The Globe's Political Intelligence has excerpts here and here.

Hey, the Democrats can do it to Kerry Healey, so why shouldn't a conservative set up Deval Patrick Watch to fisk every last thing Patrick does and says?

The wife of the guy who registered the domain at the center of the dispute between the Mihos campaign and Hub Politics replies to the Hub Politics folks in this comment.

Mass. Marrier has some additional thoughts.

By adamg - 5/15/06 - 5:40 pm

Kevin Rothstein has the details - Patrick is quitting the board of ACC Capital, parent of Ameriquest, the company Tom Reilly has been hitting him over the head with (which apparently he will continue to do):

... With his campaign rapidly losing the support it picked up over Tom Reilly’s earlier stumbles, Patrick couldn't afford to go into Thursday's debate with a big fat Ameriquest bullseye on his back. ...

The Margolis brothers at Hub Politics are getting support from unusual quarters in its fight with the Mihos campaign, which tried to shut the blog down over its comments about a Web site that may or may not have been owned by the Christy's Market company.

Mass. Marrier, about as far to the left as Hub Politics is to the right, comes to the site's defense:

By adamg - 5/11/06 - 4:14 pm

A few weeks back, the Deval Patrick Web site posted a "testimonial" video that turned out to be from his campaign co-chairwoman (which became news after the Hub Politics guys sussed her out).

Now the Patrick campaign has asked the readers of Blue Mass. Group for help in writing a "transparency" policy for future testimonials.

By adamg - 5/11/06 - 8:56 am

Hub Politics discovers that one of the Web sites serving up Christy Mihos campaign pages is owned by Christy's Market - which leads to the question of why Mihos hasn't listed that as an "in-kind" contribution on his campaign filings with the state.

Kerry Healey wants to eliminate the state gas tax this summer. Shai Sachs has another idea:

... [I]f we've got enough money to suspend the gasoline tax for the summer, why not encourage smart transportation alternatives and make the T, buses, and commuter rail totally free? And run the commuter rail lines more frequently in the morning. That would make it possible for plenty of people to commute to work affordably and it would decrease our dependency on oil. ...
