Live Boston reports firefighters were kept busy early Friday dousing a series of dumpster fires across the Fenway - two weeks after a similar series of fires in the Back Bay. Read more.

A disgusted citizen files a 311 complaint about trash piling up amid the plantings at the playground at Peterborough and Kilmarnock streets - again - and demands:

Please do more than empty barrel- or force McKinley school to maintain. This would NEVER be allowed to continue if this was in the Back Bay!

Cabot, Cabot and Forbes and CIM Group of Los Angeles yesterday filed plans with the BPDA to replace a taxi garage and a second building on Kilmarnock and Queensberry streets in the Fenway with two eight-story buildings housing 443 residential units. Read more.

A local developer and a California company told the BPDA this week they plan to replace the old Boston Cab garage on Kilmarnock Street and another low-slung building across the street with two towers housing a total of roughly 400 residential units. Read more.

Flaming bus in the Fenway

Nick Aldwin captured this bus-B-Q on Kilmarnock Street in the Fenway around 8 p.m.

The Boston Fire Department reports the bus, which had brought Fitchburg State students to town for the Sox game, was empty at the time. The department adds the bus driver is talking to his company about getting a replacement bus to get the students back to Fitchburg.

A health inspector shut Church, 69 Kilmarnock St., on Thursday until it can get its hot water back on, at least on a more consistent basis:

The establishment has been operating without hot water for a few days. The plumber was called to repair the issue and they thought it was fixed but the establishment has continued to operate without consistent hot water.
