Frieze that is an homage to leather frozen along the Charles River

It'll take more than one day to melt all the ice that formed in our brief sub-zero blast. Along the Charles River in Millennium Park in West Roxbury, a one-time homage to leather from Mechanics Hall (bulldozed to make way for the Pru) remained encased in ice around 3:30 p.m. today.

So far tonight, burst pipes caused by the sudden freeze have forced three hospitals to send patients elsewhere, left Wang Theatre patrons out in the cold, angrily yelling to be let back in, and flooded a floor at the Prudential Center mall. Read more.

WHDH's Jeremy Reiner has a couple of tips on how to make an insta-cloud with a cup or pot of hot water if it actually gets down to -10 F. on Saturday (that's -10 in actual temperature, none of this "real feel" windchill stuff), including:

Throw water out/up/away from you to avoid scalding (kids, let your parents do this trick)
