William remembers those lost in Orlando

William, who used to perform at Pulse Orlando, remembers friends and co-workers killed there.

Several hundred people gathered in front of Trinity Church in Copley Square tonight to vent their anger at the deaths in Orlando, but also to show their love for those hurting.

William, a drag performer who moved to Boston from Orlando last fall, recalled the four friends he had there who died, the four in critical condition and others who were shot. But as he tried to maintain his composure, he said, "if I preach one word today, it would be love." Read more.

UPDATE: The T announced the resumption of service at 4:50 p.m.

An inbound D train derailed between Hynes and Copley Square. Brian Campbell reports a friend called to say she's now covered in soot after something began burning and passengers had to walk through the tunnel to Copley:

She was on an inbound train and evacuated in the tunnel between Hynes and Copley, they exited at Copley.

The T is now running buses instead of trolleys between Park Street and Kenmore Square.

Don't try to go outbound anywhere on the MBTA Green Line. Nothing has moved past Copley in over 30 min.

On Monday, the mayor's office announced the city would be showing the Winter Classic Bruins hockey game on a big screen in Copley Square.

But the Globe reports that NBC/Comcast has blocked the outdoor viewing because it owns the exclusive rights to the telecast and it's not going to let a bunch of people just watch it in a park.

UPDATE, 10 a.m. Bhaiwala has set her report to "friends only."

UPDATE, 8:35 a.m.: A Transit Police spokesman says: "We have attempted to reach out to her but have not, as of this correspondence, received a reply."

Zahra Bhaiwala, who is studying health economics at the Harvard School of Public Health, reports she was on her way from class to work on the Green Line today when the trolley entered Copley and some guy she says had been eyeing her since Longwood started yelling that she had a bomb in the black bag she was carrying:

"Copley is next! That’s the best place for them to do an attack!” Followed by “Women are doing it too now, don’t you see the news?”

4 or 5 angry men had now gathered around me and I showed them my Harvard and Genzyme IDs and opened up the bag to show them my computers. They nodded their heads and backed away slowly. No one in the car said anything to the man, who refused to come with me to the MBTA office and also refused to apologize. None of the 5 men apologized either, which is more upsetting.
