The East Boston Times reports on Webster Street, where residents were startled to see the city change that recently to allow overnight parking on weekends for non-residents and two-hour parking during weekdays. With the help of City Councilor Lydia Edwards, that didn't last long.

Boston Police are charging that Tomas Mikula, 28, was futzing with chemicals in his Webster Street apartment early Sunday when it exploded, leaving him with second-degree burns over his legs, compromising the structural integrity of his building and showering the street below his second-floor apartment with glass and other debris. A man already in prison for a 2012 stabbing was sentenced today to 25 to 30 years in prison for a rape and beating on Webster Street in Jeffries Point in 2011, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Boston Police report a woman was found "suffering from significant trauma and unresponsive" around 7 a.m. at 228 Webster St. in East Boston.

The woman, in her 20s, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Both homicide and sexual-assault detectives are investigating, although police said they do not yet know if she was sexually attacked.
