Channel 25 news: Dumbing down Boston as fast as it can
Charley on the MTA feels his brain melting every time he watches, like last night, when the lead story was, no, not mayhem in the Hub or even the Sox, but the identity of Anna Nicole Smith's babydaddy:
... We're all screwed, folks. There's no way they could be foisting this utter moronilicious stupidosity on us, unless they were hiding something really big from us. I'm expecting a meteor.
I don't ever, ever, ever want to hear about how bloggers have no credibility. That may be true, or not true, but we're just not first on the list of the damned -- not even close.
You can kiss the Cape good-bye
Wow, I had no idea today's storm would affect the Cape so severely.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
Or 123 Party! Channel 25 was doing an "expose" on dumpster diving (and next week, in part 2 of our exclusive investigative report: Homeless people sleeping in ATMs!). One of Fox 25's sources let the three neon-green dancer guys know and media-jamming hilarity ensued:
They always handle the snow, 'cuz you just don't know what it looks like
Channel 25's VB reveals the five rules of TV snow reporting.
If we let Matsuzaka drink beer, will we have to let him burn the American flag?
This reminds me why I don't watch Channel 25 news. I wonder if he was that upset about Curt Schilling promoting obesity and coronary disease when he got signed by the Sox.
Hot news
On Irregahdless, Andrew Teman ranks local anchorwomen on their hotness (which, of course, leaves open the question of who will be the first to rank the anchormen, which leads to the question of who remembers the ill-fated pairing of the Anchorhunk and the Anchorette as an attempt to combat the Anchorcouple way back when).
All together now: Aw, poor baby
You really gotta feel for the Globe reporter who had to wait while a security guard confirmed he was to be allowed into last night's debate at Channel 25. Must've been rough.
Emily Rooney: Did Channel 25 suck or what?
Emily Rooney of WGBH's Greater Boston blogs her reaction to Fox's handling of the debate:
I'm not big on labeling new organizations with a political ideology but it would be hard to convince me there was no agenda at the FOX25 Monday night event. ...
Shondagate
Hah, hah, sure was cute to see Channel 25 pick "average voter" Shonda Schilling of Medfield to ask a question during last night's debate, wasn't it? Sure, her husband's a big Republican from way back, no bias there, nope, but even better, turns out Shonda's not registered to vote in Massachusetts.
Blue Mass. Group, meanwhile, discovers something fishy about "average voter" and famous restaurant owner Jasper White - seems he's a Healey backer.
Spare Change Guy makes the news
An eagle-eyed tblade went to Channel 25's Web site earlier today to get info about tonight's debate. He pulled up an interview with the Herald's Kimberly Atkins, chatting from in front of the State House. Toward the end, he noticed this bearded guy trying to get on camera. Spare Change Guy!
