FBI hunts two robbers who hit the same TD Bank branch on Boylston Street

The FBI reports the TD Bank branch at 535 Boylston St. was held up Sunday afternoon by a man who gave a teller a note.

He's described as black, about 6 feet tall, mid 40s and heavy, and was wearing a brown knit hat with a stripe, white button down shirt with a white tank top underneath, dark colored pants and black sneakers.

The FBI is also looking for a white guy who pulled the same basic maneuver at the bank on Nov. 17. He's described as 5'8" or 5'9" with a medium build and in his 20s.

The branch was also held up on Aug. 4.

Lynn man charged with wasting slice of pizza

Boston Police report arresting a man they say took exception to a cab at Mass. Ave. and Boylston Street early this morning and attacked it with his fists and a slice of pizza.

Robert Bragan, 27, of Lynn, was charged with being a disorderly person shortly before 2 a.m., after, police say, he refused to get out of the way of a cab trying to turn onto Mass. Ave. from Boylston.

Witnesses say the suspect began hitting the front of the cab and threw a slice of pizza onto the hood of the vehicle. When asked to step out of the street, the suspect refused and began to verbally disparage the officers.

Firefighters make quick work of downtown fire

Boston Fireman reports firefighters responded to 62 Boylston St. around 9:30 a.m. for a sixth-floor fire. Fire quickly doused, no injuries. The Boston Fire Department reports the cause was some flammable materials coming in contact with the top of an electric stove that had been left on. The department estimated damage at $20,000.

Feds: Members of violent JP gang traveled to shooting range to improve their aim

Three alleged members of the Mozart Street gang - which has been tied to murders and violence from the Dominican Republic to a Jamaica Plain pizza place - were indicted this week on federal gun charges after they were allegedly observed shooting "three guns and hundreds of rounds of ammunition at paper targets in an apparent effort to improve their marksmanship."

Christian Green, Jeffrey Medina and Sherwin Garcia were indicted in US District Court in Boston on charges of being felons in possession of firearms following their arrest on Dec. 22 as they left a shooting range in Salisbury. All three are convicted felons, which makes it illegal for them to handle guns, but police watched them enter and leave a Salisbury shooting range, at which they paid their $333 tab in cash after shooting hundreds of rounds at eight paper targets in two shooting lanes, the indictment alleges, adding they all signed a waiver saying they had no prior felony convictions.

In an affidavit filed against Green, Boston Police Officer Manuel Blas wrote he was surprised when he learned of their trip north:

Three treated for smoke inhalation after Green Line train starts leaking hydraulic fluid

Boston Fireman tweets a Green Line trolley began leaking hydraulic fluid at Boylston station this morning. It began to smoke and three people required treatment after breathing that in.

It turned out to be a false alarm, but at least one Pour House patron wasn't going to risk not being able to get back to his brunch when the place was evacuated around 1 p.m. today. Richard Feindel captured the moment.

The annual Santas in Speedos run (now formally known as SSRun for some no doubt perfectly good reason that I just can't figure out at 6:46 a.m.) starts at 1 p.m. this Saturday at Lir on Boylston Street.

The annual No Pants Subway Ride comes up on Jan. 9, between 2 and 4 p.m., at an exact location to be named later.

Via Beantown Bloggery comes the news the Boston Pops is looking for help to set a Guinness record for most number of carolers caroling in one place, starting at noon tomorrow (Dec. 4) at the plaza in front of the Prudential Center. They'll need at least 7,515 carolers singing continuously for 15 minutes to break the current record.

Need more than civic pride to show up? How about free hot chocolate for all?
