The Boston Business Journal reports a developer wants to replace the Shell station at 1241 Boylston St., at Ipswich, with an eight-story hotel. With the recent closing of the Gulf station at Park Drive (snapped up by Star Market), the proposal would leave that Boylston Street with just one gas station - a Sunoco across from the Shell.

The Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports on 14 people who were arraigned today (more will be arraigned on Tuesday and Wednesday). Boston Police report arresting a trio of guys first spotted riding "erratically" on two scooters through Roxbury on the way to the Back Bay where, police say, they used a bolt cutter to steal a scooter parked on Boylston Street. Read more.

UPDATE: And the answer is NO. The Green Line is a mess - no service at all between Arlington and Government Center, due to a small tunnel fire that forced passengers to leave trains and walk the tracks to the nearest stop. At least one person taken to the hospital from Park Street.

Ferraris at a bus stop on Boylston Street

Alex C. captured two Lamborghinis and a Ferrari whose drivers figured the absolute best place on Boylston Street to stop and compare the size of their, um, wallets this afternoon would be the bus stop at Clarendon Street. He reports:

I told them they were in a bus stop right after they parked there, and they were like "whatever."

Boylston Street fire

Boylston Street in Copley Square was shut around 5 p.m. as firefighters raced to the top of the eight-story 583 Boylston St. (the building with the New Balance store) for a roof fire. The fire extended to a shed on the roof before they knocked it down.
