St. Francis House, which provides services to the homeless on Boylston Street, says it's hoping for $10,000 for emergency plumbing supplies so it can resume providing showers and hot meals. Currently, the kitchen is flooded from a burst pipe.

With roughly 500 men and women who desperately rely on our refuge services every day, this is absolutely devastating.

A woman managed to get several people angry at her and then ejected from Whiskey Saigon, 116 Boylston St., early on March 9. One of them wound up beaten up by other club goers. Read more.

A man who had just sat down for dinner at the Pour House on Boylston Street got stabbed in the lower lip when he rose to defend his friend from a guy who'd grabbed a knife off another table and lunged at them in February, the man and police told the Boston Licensing Board today.

Maggie Hoffman reports the awning at a mattress store on Beacon Street, across from Winchester Street in Brookline, burst into flames shortly before 12:30 p.m., but was quickly put out. Read more.

Restoring building cladding on Boylston Street in the Fenway

This morning, Jeremy Sarna watched workers restore the cladding that fell off one of those brand-spanking new buildings on Boylston Street in the Fenway in the wind yesterday. The wind-whipped building pieces shut Boylston Street overnight and into this morning.
