UPDATE: Boston Police report one victim has died; the other is expected to survive. Both were in their 20s. NECN reports the victim was Jamal Bannister, 24.

Two men in a car were shot around 9:30 p.m. at Boylston and Gloucester streets, one repeatedly, according to Boston EMS Incidents. The homicide unit has been called in due to the severity of his injuries, Chargemyline reports.

Boylston is shut due to the investigation.

OTO Development of Spartanburg, SC, has filed plans with the BPDA for a 184-room, eight-story hotel on the site of what is now a Shell station at Boylston and Ipswich streets in the Fenway. Read more.

The Boston Business Journal reports a developer wants to replace the Shell station at 1241 Boylston St., at Ipswich, with an eight-story hotel. With the recent closing of the Gulf station at Park Drive (snapped up by Star Market), the proposal would leave that Boylston Street with just one gas station - a Sunoco across from the Shell.
