For the second time this month, a community meeting on a proposed Roslindale development that would be small by South Boston or Forest Hills standards raised fears that Roslindale is about to be rushed by developers who will try to completely overwhelm the neighborhood with projects far denser than allowed under a rezoning plan worked out by residents and the city only a few years ago. Building a new playground at the Sumner School in Roslindale

Parents and neighbors descended on the Sumner School in Roslindale today to help set up a temporary play set to replace the one burned in an arson fire this past May, until a more permanent playground can be built. Read more.

Nicholas Alexander Rovinski pleaded guilty today to federal charges that he conspired with Usaamah Abdullah Rahim and Rahim's nephew on a plot to kill a prominent anti-Islam crusader in New York - and that he continued to try to carry out murders even after he was imprisoned after Rahim was shot dead by an FBI agent and a Boston cop in a Roslindale parking lot on June 2, 2015, the US Attorney's office reports: Read more.

Two dogs found in the Arboretum

The name of the street is "Hillock", not "Hillcock". The later sounds too British. Impact is probably none.

Developers today showed off a proposal to replace a ramshackle commercial building at Belgrade Avenue and McCraw Street with a new four-story structure with first-floor retail space and 21 apartments above that. Read more.

The Boston Water and Sewer Commission has six rain gauges across the city and you can see how much rain each has gotten on a daily, monthly and yearly basis. So far this year, Hyde Park has gotten the most rain - a whole 21.58 inches. Neighboring Roslindale, meanwhile, has only gotten 16.58. Both places, of course, are far below the normal amounts.
