The owner of industrial buildings along West 1st Street and Pappas Way has teamed up with a Toronto developer on a proposal for an eight-acre, seven-building development that would include "a variety of commercial and employment-based opportunities" as well as some new housing - in a complex that would be nearly as large as the one now underway to replace the old Edison plant a few blocks away. Transit Police report they are looking for five juveniles they say jumped a woman at Broadway station around 4 p.m. yesterday, stole her bag of groceries, then began throwing items from it at her head. They ran out of the station, the woman had to be transported to a local hospital for facial injuries, police say.

The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans by a Brooklyn-based coffeehouse chain that specializes in cold brews to turn a former real-estate office at 489 East Broadway in South Boston into a place where baristas can ply their trade - right around the corner from the more old-school PS Gourmet, which sells giant-sized "buckets" of flavored iced coffee. The MBTA announced this morning it's completed its $255-million purchase of the 24-acre Widett Circle to store and maintain trains on South Station routes - both current and planned future routes to Fall River, New Bedford and Pittsfield. Read more.

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to 690 Dorchester Ave. for a fire on the first and second floors around 1 p.m.

No injuries, but three residents were displaced, the department says.

Guns and bullets seized from man's SUV

An Arkansas man was ordered held in lieu of $5,000 bail after he was arrested on Day Boulevard in South Boston early Sunday for driving around with a loaded gun under his leg, three other loaded guns and a total of 230 bullets, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.
