State Police report a woman from Quincy who was walking in a Day Boulevard crosswalk when she was hit by a car last night remains in critical condition.
State Police say the woman, 45, was struck just past Moakley Park by a Camry driven by a 75-year-old Randolph man in the left lane towards Castle Island. The driver and his two passengers were uninjured, State Police say, adding the crash remains under investigation.

State Police report a pedestrian was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision around 7:50 p.m. on Day Boulevard just north of Moakley Park.
Day Boulevard was shut from the rotary to the McCormack Bath House for the investigation.

The BRA board today approved a development off Old Colony Avenue and Dorchester Street that would transform a nearly 5-acre collection of small industrial buildings into 656 condo and rental units in buildings ranging up to 24 stories tall. Read more.

A developer this week filed formal plans for a 15-story, 411-room hotel at 660 Summer St. in the Flynn Marine Industrial Park.
The Marine Wharf hotel would be split between a Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites by Hilton, under the proposal submitted by developers Eamon O’Marah and John Matteson of Harbinger Development of Wellesley. The BRA had tentatively designated the company to build a hotel at the site last fall. Read more.

UPDATE, Tuesday morning: The Boston Fire Department reports the cause was self combustion by oily rags being stored in trash bags in the basement.
A brownstone being renovated at 797 East 4 St. in South Boston burst into flames around 10:25 p.m., in a fire that went to four alarms and damaged two adjoining buildings. Read more.

I just deleted a post saying the licensing board didn't have an Aug. 17 hearing scheduled for the controversial Starbucks at L and Broadway in South Boston. At the time I wrote that, that was accurate - I asked board Chairwoman Christine Pulgini and she looked at the board schedule and nope, no hearing was set. Maybe 30 minutes after that, Starbucks submitted a request for a re-hearing on the board's May denial of a license on Aug. 17, and Pulgini granted the request. So it's on.

GE and the Massachusetts Development Finance Authority today filed their formal plans for the company's new headquarters on Fort Point Channel that will include extensive renovations to two old candy buildings and construction of a new 12-story glass building.
In a filing with the BRA, GE says it hopes to begin roughly 15 months of renovation and construction this spring. In addition to the BRA, the state Department of Environmental Protection will also have to approve the project due to its location on former tidelands along Fort Point Channel. Read more.
