We just walked through Roslindale Square and there are so many gypsy moths you have to keep your mouth closed to avoid one flying in. Reports are coming in of equally gross conditions in South Boston and Dorchester.

Josh Deering reports his flight into Logan last night had to sit 20 or 25 minutes at the gate to clear a swarm of the moths to connect the jetway.

The East Boston Savings Bank branch at 708 East Broadway was held up around 9:30 a.m.

The branch was also held up on March 4.

The Herald reports Massport is stuck with some 9,400 specially designed concrete barriers for the IndyCar that Wasn't, sitting on land that was supposed to be for maritime uses, but no longer is, thanks to the thousands upon thousands of these things that the local IndyCar promoters are no longer paying to store there.

South Boston Today reports that faced with continued losses in court, the developer who wanted to turn the Gate of Heaven school on East 4 Street into 31 condos has given up and not renewed his purchase-and-sale agreement with the Archdiocese of Boston.

Neighbors who have fought the plan say the archdiocese should look at alternative educational uses, such as renting or selling the building to a charter school.

New cross going up atop Seaport chapel

Jen Richard watched construction workers install a cross atop the new Our Lady of the Good Voyage chapel in the Seaport this morning. The chapel was moved from its original location on Northern Avenue to make way for one of the many fine luxoprojects going up along the South Boston waterfront.
