Resist the Pipeline reports three protesters were arrested yesterday when they blocked the entrance to the site where Spectra Energy is building a "metering and regulating" station to transfer natural gas from the pipeline Spectra is building from Westwood to West Roxbury.

The three were charged with disturbing the peace, in the first protest arrests against the pipeline since last fall.

The Bulletin reports the Bellevue Hill Neighborhood Association meets Wednesday at 7 p.m. to discuss a possible apartment building on the site of a long abandoned gas station on Belgrade Avenue at the parkway.

The meeting will be held in the E-5 police station.

Protest outside Spectra site in West Roxbury

Protesters outside pipeline end point in West Roxbury this morning.

Kinder Morgan announced yesterday it's suspending its planned $3-billion natural-gas pipeline from New York to New Hampshire that would have included segments in Massachusetts as well.

Meanwhile, opponents of the West Roxbury Lateral Pipeline, part of a larger pipeline project by Algonquin Gas Transmission, blocked a large piece of construction equipment from entering the site where the company's contractors are building a transfer station in West Roxbury this morning. Rockland Trust suspect

The FBI's Bank Robbery Task Force reports this guy gave a note demanding money to a teller at the Rockland Trust branch at 1905 Centre St. yesterday, got some money, then fled on foot.

He's described as having a small build and wore a red Red Sox jacket.

The Zoning Board of Appeals this week rejected a proposed condo building on the site of a former asthma-inhaler factory in West Roxbury, citing neighborhood concerns about density, parking and the developer's proposal to assemble prefab modular units on the site, rather than hiring local workers for more traditional construction. A 15-year-old student at the West Roxbury Academy was ordered held when he couldn't come up with $50,000 for bail at his arraignment on charges he stabbed a schoolmate three times this morning, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Even if he makes bail, the Dorchester resident, not named because of his age, will remain under house arrest, the DA's office says.

His alleged victim, a 17-year-old student from Roxbury, was rushed to a local hospital for emergency surgery.

WFXT reports the stabbing happened around 8:30 a.m. at West Roxbury Academy, in the West Roxbury Education Complex. The victim is expected to survive.

In a statement today, Catholic Memorial School says it's taking several steps to deal with the repercussions of Friday's anti-Semitic chanting by fans before a basketball game against Newton North, including banning students from tonight's MIAA Division 1 semifinal against Cambridge at the Garden.

The team itself, which had nothing to do with the chants, will be allowed to play, the school says: Read more.
