The Bulletin reports on a meeting of residents along Clare Avenue in Hyde Park at which one complained about her neighbors constantly toking up since voters legalized recreational marijuana use:

"I want to nip this in the bud," she said. "Everyone’s talking, but no one is doing anything."

Neponset Avenue fire

UPDATE: BFD says cause was short circuit; fire not related to other recent fires in the neighborhood.

The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded at 12:14 p.m. on Wednesday to 66 Neponset Ave. for what turned into a two-alarm fire. Read more.

Pickup truck into house in Hyde Park

A man driving a pickup truck with a large propane tank in the bed plowed into the house at 102 West St. in Hyde Park shortly after 5 p.m. today.

Witnesses, who included Weaverson Ulyesse and David Pierre, said the driver seemed to have floored it when turning left onto the narrow West from the even narrower Hilton Street. Read more.

The Supreme Judicial Court today upheld the first-degree murder convictions of Earl Fulgiam and Michael Corbin for the 2011 double murder of Billie Marie Kee and Kevin Thomas, Jr. in their apartment at 957 Hyde Park Ave.

But in its ruling, which means life without parole for the two, the state's highest court also put prosecutors and police on notice they have to be more careful in the future with how they obtain the contents of text messages and other electronic communications. Read more.

Proposed addition to Boston Prep building in Hyde Park

Boston Preparatory Charter Public School, which recently finished its new school on River Street, across from the PriceRite, has filed plans with the BPDA for an addition to handle the 300 new students the state decided in January to let it add. Read more.

The Dorchester Reporter reports that US Rep. Michael Capuano will spend roughly $50,000 in campaign funds to promote the Fairmount Line by letting everybody ride for free between May 8 and May 21.

A MassDOT environmental report details plans to expand South Station over nine years that would hinge on getting the Postal Service to finally abandon its giant facility along Fort Point Channel and moving the food-distribution companies of Widett Circle someplace else. Read more.

Like literally put on the map.

The good news in a Boston Foundation report on the Fairmount Line is that a $200-million state investment in adding and improving stations and service meant a three-fold increase in ridership since 2012.

The bad news is that only means 2,257 riders on a typical weekday, because ridership in 2012 was so low - just 789. Read more.

Hazrat Khalid Khan, 56, who lives in Middletown, NY, but who co-owns 11 fried-chicken take-out places in Mattapan, Hyde Park, Dorchester, Roxbury, Brighton and Chelsea, today pleaded guilty to conspiring to defraud the Internal Revenue Service, failing to collect and pay over taxes, committing mail fraud, making false statements on a naturalization application, and committing visa fraud, the US Attorney's office reports. Mayor Walsh today announced a $1.4-million project to improve traffic in Readville, including traffic lights at either end of the short but clogged and dangerous Father Hart bridge that has bedeviled drivers for years as they try to cross over the train tracks that split the neighborhood. Fire at 36 Lexington Ave. in Hyde Park

A three-alarm fire at 36 Lexington Ave. that broke out shortly before 12:10 p.m. sent one resident to the hospital.

The Boston Fire Department reports the fire started in the rear and that the home's rear porches collapsed. Read more.

A fire that broke out at 18 Lincoln St. in Hyde Park around 5 p.m. went to two alarms and displaced nine people.

The Boston Fire Department reports no injuries; estimates damage at $300,000.
