The Globe reports on a Nov. 3 incident on a BPS bus transporting students at the Boston Renaissance charter school in Hyde Park, in which a 6-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted another student repeatedly.

In Nov. 8-period thread about voting, someone asked for examples of the silly write-in entries I saw at mine. It wasn't as wide-ranging or impulsive as the last primary. Voters seemed to take this election more seriously.

I have a few fans or gadflies from my role as a precinct warden in Boston. A few discuss elections and voting procedures when we meet on the sidewalk, supermarket, Y or elsewhere in Hyde Park or even Dedham.

One in particular is determined to stump me on ways a vote or the whole precinct can be gamed. He's pulled up in his car beside me when I hike up and down the hills (Brush and Fairmount) as well as in those other places. He walked to my side yard today while I was weeding my raised beds for the winter.

Developer Jordan Warshaw today showed up plans for a 521-unit middle-income apartment complex in four buildings that would rise as high as eight stories in what is now an industrial/warehouse area off Sprague Street between Sprague Pond, the Northeast Corridor and the Readville train station. James Clermont

Boston Police have identified the man found dead of a gunshot wound in a car on Williams Avenue on Fairmount Hill this past Saturday as James Clermont, 24, of South Weymouth.

"Jerz" Clermont leaves two sons and a daughter, aged 6, 3 and 2, according to a GoFundMe page his brother set up to help pay for funeral and burial services this Monday and for a fund for his children.

A couple days ago, the Globe reported how Keolis treats the Faimount Line like its spare-parts bin - pulling equipment off the line when other lines have problems. This morning, Samantha Sergeant reports:

Boston Police report a man was found shot to death inside a motor vehicle outside 36 Williams Ave. in Hyde Park's Fairmount Hill section around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Police report the victim appeared to be in his early 20s. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Bulletin reports on the efforts of the Dog Park Association of Southwest Boston to convince the state to turn the long shuttered Thompson Center in Hyde Park into a dog park. In addition to general state inertia, the group also has to contend with advocates for children - who say the center should be restored to its original use as a park for kids with disabilities - and senior citizens.

Aquiles Perez, 25, of Hyde Park, admitted yesterday he killed Rafael Guzman in a fight after Guzman asked him to leave a Blue Hill Avenue party for hitting on two women there, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

Among the items volunteers pulled out of the Neponset and its banks in Hyde Park during an annual clean-up drive on Sept. 24: Two cash registers (empty of cash), a Boston Herald honor box dumped near the river in 1995 (based on the date of a newspaper still inside it), a house oil tank, a wheelbarrow, computers, a highway sign, 12-foot sections of iron fencing, baby potties, TVs, radios, cinder blocks, bricks and other construction material, 18 shopping carts, 49 tires and lots of spaghetti that appeared to have been recently made.

Cleaning up trash along the Neponset River on the Hyde Park/Mattapan line

The Neponset River Watershed Association sent volunteers to several points along the Neponset in Hyde Park this morning for its annual river cleanup.

Behind Le Phare Church on River Street on the Hyde Park/Mattapan line, volunteers struck the mother load of trash: An entire hillside covered in what looked like the detritus of months of buffets. Read more.
