Salt just got more expensive

The price of road salt went up $20 a ton over last year for the town, which, like many of its southeastern neighbors, contracts with Eastern Minerals Inc. in Chelsea.

With money being an issue for most citys and towns how is this going to affect the quality of service we all recieve? Will we see more situations like last years first storm of the year regionwide gridlock?
