20 Year homicide report

Darrin Howell from Chuck Turner's office released a 20 Year study of Homicides in Boston. The study found that in over half of the murders in the last 10 years there were no arrests.

Spam?
I call spam on signatures on UH posts. Nobody can top eeka's current one, so I think the rest of us can concede she wins the Internet, and Adam can retire the Drupal signature feature altogether.

Yeah, my signature is totally spam. I'll agree with you there. Signature files are generally rather spammy. I did stick to one image and one url though, at least.
There's a difference though (I think) between posting purposefully (in other words, being on topic, posting for the reason of furthering a discussion, coming to the site enough that one is familiar with the other posters and the culture of the site) with some spam appended and just running around the internet making posts with the sole intention of directing traffic to one's own site.

i don't think a signature with your URL is spam
rather i think it's one more step towards removing the questionable veil of anonymity that gives people on the internet the fortitude to be be douches with no accountability.
do you get money if i go to your blog? no? then it's not spam. it's information about who you are as a person, which leads to information on who you are as a poster and a member of UH.
but maybe i am just biased because i lurve kitchenaid mixers ;)

I get like a couple cents if you go to my blog, and like a dollar if you click on the google ads. But yeah, that's hardly my motivation for blogging or directing people to the blog. And the sig is intended to tie this account to the real me, yes. Well, the url part is; the mixer banner is just because I'm a smartass.

Questionable veil of anonymity
UH already provides a special place in each user profile for their URL. Just click on the person's name, and you should see a "My URL." Adding your URL to your UH profile is even easier than adding a signature.

The picture was funny....once.
Now, it's something I'm forced to scroll through if eeka is participating heavily in the conversation. The format here just doesn't jive well with repetitive signatures cutting through the discussion; especially pics as big as most comments in terms of vertical space taken.
I've been pretty tolerant of Karen Z's triple URL signature, but, eeka, the pic has really gotta go.

You know, I recently had a similar complaint
I really don't like turning pages in books. I keep writing to the publishers and telling them to keep it to one page so I'm not so pissed off all the time, but so far no luck.
