Summer is coming. Time for football – signups.

The local Pop Warner Football leagues are already in process of signing up youth for the fall season in their respective neighborhoods. Pop Warner has programs for youth football players and cheerleaders in multiple age categories. The Pop Warner program in West Roxbury recently changed its name to the “Parkway Falcons” and is now accommodating youth in West Roxbury, Roslindale, and Jamaica Plain.

The next series of signups are scheduled for Wednesday, June 10 from 7 PM to 8:45 PM, and Saturday, June 13 from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Locations for signup on these dates are the Roslindale Community Center, 6 Cummins Highway, at the intersection of Washington Street in Roslindale Square; the Roche Center in West Roxbury at 1716 Centre Street (next to the Area “E” Police Station); and Curtis Hall at South and Centre Streets in Jamaica Plain. Additional signup dates and locations will be announced in local newspapers in the community news section. Practice starts in August.

Parents will need to bring a birth certificate, a 2009 Pop Warner registration form, and complete a 2009 Pop Warner Medical form (dated by the doctor in 2009).
