Thought that was coming
When I heard that 7-Eleven had bought the chain months(?) ago, I figured the Ball Square Pantry was going to go. After all, it was a CVS, until the one at Medford St. opened. Perhaps someone will take it over, like the Pantry that used to be at Porter Square.
Cambridge and Somerville are
Cambridge and Somerville are just trying to get rid of all the fowl in a 10 mile radius arent they.
Should the city get involved?
Somebody called 311 to seek municipal action.
7-Eleven Somerville (734 Broadway)
Hey U.Hub commenters - I handle promotions for 7-Eleven and just found out that the White Hen Pantry store in Somerville is on the schedule to be converted to a spiffy new 7-Eleven later this summer. It's on the list... Slurpees and a big opening party are coming. When 7-Eleven improves a store, they also improve the area around the store - it takes time, but it'll happen. There are 58 White Hen stores scheduled for conversions to 7-Elevens, and it is a huge job - everything from the computer system, merchandise, upgrades to the store's interior and exterior, and of course, installing the roller grill and Slurpee machine. Keep an eye out. We have a Facebook page for "7-Eleven New England Celebrations" to post updates and events for all the stores, if you are interested.
