Angelo Scaccia speaks: Why is Massachusetts helping Leonardo DiCaprio more than the developmentally disabled?

Blue Mass. Group posts comments from the Hyde Park Democrat on how Beacon Hill is broken:

... "We give tax subsidies to the movie industry now," Scaccia told family members and a small handful of lawmakers this past Friday at a legislative breakfast at the Fernald Developmental Center. "We have to subsidize Leonardo DiCaprio because he's apparently so poor. We've created 14 jobs at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars. Meanwhile, the DDS and the DMH have laid off hundreds of people. Those are our priorities now." ...

Ed. note: Scaccia is possibly the quietest state rep. ever. I've been his constituent for like 16 years now, but before this, all I knew about him was that he got involved in a liquor-license dispute in Westwood, which he doesn't represent.

Always was a big supporter of the BPL (until he left the library board after the dumping of Margolis) -- and always a very big supporter of programs for developmentally disabled.

Rep Scaccia has served for over thirty yeras. He is amazingly hard working, honest and a huge asset to the House and to Massachusetts. I am not in his district but have observed his work for the past ten years. He thinks and acts rather than grandstanding. This is a man who would make a wonderful United States Senator or Representative to Congress.
